18-Year-Old Student Serves as Startup Mentor

Press release from: Adlerquell Verlag

While traditional classrooms are often still dominated by dry theory, a real startup vibe is currently sweeping through Bergheim. As part of this year's project week, 18-year-old student and serial entrepreneur Nico Bergstreiser is taking on the role of mentor: In a startup workshop that he designed and leads entirely on his own, he introduces students in grades 9 through 11 to the practical aspects of modern entrepreneurship.
The goal is ambitious: to validate their own business idea and build a functional prototype in just three days.

Peer-to-peer learning instead of lecture-style instruction: A student leads the project

Supported by supervising teachers who remain in the background, the operational and content-related management of the project rests entirely in Bergstreiser's hands. As the founder of, among other things, _Adlerquell Verlag_ and as CMO, he brings the necessary practical experience to instill a genuine entrepreneurial spirit in the participants on an equal footing.

"It makes a huge difference whether you learn startup theory from a textbook or from someone who is immersed in the day-to-day reality of the field, faces the same hurdles, and speaks the students' language," explains Nico Bergstreiser. "My goal is to show that you don't need a college degree or a huge amount of seed capital to bring an idea to life today."

The Process: From Idea to Interactive Prototype in 72 Hours

The workshop's dynamic mirrors the reality of modern tech incubators. Divided into teams of four to five people, the students go through a hands-on crash course in agile product development and system design:

1. Idea Generation & Target Audience Validation: The teams learn to identify everyday problems and build viable business models (Business Model Canvas) around them.

2. No-Code Prototyping: Instead of theoretical coding, students learn how to use modern no-code website builders to create professional, functional websites and landing pages in just a few hours.

3. Marketing and Sales Fundamentals: Nico teaches students practical strategies for customer acquisition that he himself applies daily in his own companies and as a marketing expert.

4. The Final Pitch: On the fourth day, the teams must present to a simulated investor panel--modeled after well-known startup TV shows like "Die Hoehle der Loewen."

A Listening Ear for the Community: Nico Bergstreiser as a Point of Contact for Young Founders

For Nico Bergstreiser, the project doesn't end with the school week. He wants to break down barriers and is extremely approachable: The young entrepreneur actively invites other students, aspiring founders, as well as teachers and schools looking to establish similar hands-on programs, to engage in dialogue.

"Many young people have brilliant ideas but simply don't know where to start, or they're intimidated by the bureaucracy in Germany," says Bergstreiser. "I want to be the go-to person they can easily reach out to--whether via social media or WhatsApp. Anyone with questions about no-code, business automation, or starting a business while still in school can contact me anytime. I'm happy to help and share my experiences."

Anyone interested who has questions about his projects, is looking for support with their own startup ideas, or would like to initiate a discussion about practical educational projects in schools can contact him directly.
