Rubber City Tattoo Invitational Returns to Akron July 24-26 With More Than 200 Tattoo Artists
Three-day event brings tattooing, live entertainment, contests and a Back to the Future-inspired experience to downtown Akron**AKRON, Ohio** - The Rubber City Tattoo Invitational will return to Akron July 24-26, 2026, bringing more than 200 tattoo artists together for three days of live tattooing, entertainment and competition.
Now in its second year, the Rubber City Tattoo Invitational was created to offer more than a traditional tattoo convention. While tattooing remains at the center of the weekend, the event is designed to be an experience for tattoo collectors, artists and those simply interested in the culture and art of tattooing.
"We wanted to build the kind of tattoo convention we would actually want to attend," said co-owner Elizabeth Urbanek. "Obviously, the artists and tattooing are the heart of the event, but we also put a lot of thought into the experience. We want the person who comes with their tattoo-obsessed friend or spouse to have just as much fun."
Attendees can meet and get tattooed by artists traveling to Akron from across the country. Walk-up tattoos will be available throughout the weekend, although appointments with individual artists can also be arranged in advance.
The weekend will also include daily tattoo competitions, with categories recognizing a variety of tattoo styles and techniques. If you think you have the best tattoo, you can enter it in one of over 50 contests. (You don't have to get tattooed at the convention unless you are entering Tattoo of the Day, Best in Show, or Best Multi-Day.)
The Rubber City Tattoo Invitational takes place July 24-26, 2026, in Akron, Ohio. Single-day and weekend passes are available.
