igus Launches Advanced iglidur® Coating Solutions to Boost Conveyor Reliability and Service Life

igus has expanded its proven iglidur® coating portfolio with innovative solutions designed to significantly improve the performance and durability of conveyor systems. The new range includes coated plates, flexible wire mesh, and the first PTFE-free powder coating (IC‐05PF)-delivering enhanced wear resistance, increased uptime, and simplified retrofitting for existing systems.

Across industries such as food & beverage and material handling, worn coatings often lead to higher friction, product jams, and costly downtime. igus addresses these challenges with its iglidur® high-performance polymer coatings, offering up to 10× greater wear resistance compared to conventional PTFE coatings. The result is smoother material flow, reduced maintenance, and longer operating lifecycles.

Engineered for demanding environments, iglidur® coatings ensure excellent sliding performance, even for challenging applications such as electrostatically charged items. This enables conveyor systems to operate more efficiently and reliably under continuous, high-load conditions.

A key innovation is the introduction of IC‐05PF, a PTFE-free and PFAS-conscious solution compliant with FDA and EU 10/2011 standards. It is ideal for hygiene-sensitive applications such as bottling lines, packaging systems, and vibratory feeders-ensuring safe and consistent transport of goods while meeting evolving regulatory demands.

igus also simplifies system upgrades with pre-coated steel plates and stainless steel mesh. These can be easily customized, cut, and installed, enabling rapid modernization without major system overhauls. Plates provide thicker layers for maximum wear protection, while mesh solutions offer reduced friction through minimal contact surfaces.
