Free Texarkana Conference to Connect Families Raising Children with Disabilities with Resources, Support, and Hope

TEXARKANA, Texas - Families, educators, therapists, and community members are invited to attend "Parenting Across Disabilities: Strategies, Support, and Hope", a free conference taking place on June 27, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Southwest Center, 3222 W. 7th Street in Texarkana.

Hosted by Partners Resource Network, the event is designed to help families raising children and youth with disabilities access practical resources, build support networks, and connect with professionals and organizations serving the Texarkana region.

For many families, navigating disability-related services, educational supports, therapies, and future planning can feel overwhelming. This conference brings together parents, caregivers, educators, service providers, and community organizations to share information, answer questions, and provide tools that families can use immediately.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about:

- Disability resources and support services
- Special education and school collaboration
-Strategies for daily challenges at home and school
-Community programs available to local families
- Building stronger support networks

The event welcomes:

-Parents and caregivers
-Educators and school personnel
- Therapists and service providers
- School administrators
-Community organizations and advocates

Lunch will be provided for registered attendees.

Travel stipends are available for Texas parents upon application and approval. The deadline to apply is June 20, 2026.

Families often spend years searching for information, support, and answers. Organizers hope this conference will help connect local families with resources while reminding them they are not alone in their journey.

We provide free support, training, and resources to families of children and youth with disabilities, as well as youth self-advocates across Texas. Our team helps families understand disabilities, explore programs and services, participate confidently in the IEP process, learn about their rights under state and federal law, strengthen communication with professionals, develop advocacy skills, and build meaningful support networks. Through our statewide Parent Training and Information (PTI) Centers-PACT, PATH, PEN, and TEAM-PRN empowers families with the knowledge, tools, and confidence they need to help their children thrive.
