WINDUS Receives Invention Patent for Gray Cast Iron Automatic Surfacing Process
Through precise control over preheating, filler metal, shielding gas, heat input, robotic path, and postweld cooling, the process achieves perfect metallurgical fusion between nickelbased filler and gray cast iron, ensuring firstpass seal integrity.
Production validation confirms the process reliably eliminates porosity, overweld, underfill, undercut, and weld collapse, with excellent weld quality.
The technology is already applied in WINDUS's proprietary PEC eccentric plug valve (AWWA C517 compliant). WINDUS has also been invited to participate in drafting China's national standard "Cast Iron - Part 2: Welding" (Plan No. 20251837Z469).
