These incidents can be partially credited to the group purchasing organizations (GPOs) who have major control over purchasing activities in a healthcare center, usually big hospitals. GPOs look for endoscopic devices available at low prices despite the availability of better devices with low or zero complications. These decisions sometimes lead to serious conditions like superbug outbreak where patients may get infected and sometimes lead to death.
