Shown in the special exhibition Tales of the Scripts at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig.

Austria, 14 May 2026 - The artist K. J. Weingaertner announces that the artwork BabyloNokia is a unique, one-of-a-kind clay work retained in the artist's own collection. Conceived as a singular sculptural object, the piece reflects an artistic engagement with material culture, speculative archaeology, and the visual language of communication technologies.

The work is made of clay and measures approximately 13.5 × 6.5 × 0.8 centimetres (5.31 × 2.56 × 0.31 inches). It weighs 91 grams (31⁄4 ounces). Its compact scale and tactile materiality contribute to its character as an individual artefact rather than an editioned object or reproducible design.

BabyloNokia was exhibited in "Tales of the Scripts" at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig (HGB) from 5 to 30 May 2025. The exhibition presented speculative clay artefacts developed in the context of typography teaching and explored the relationship between writing systems, objects, and cultural imagination. BabyloNokia was included among the featured works shown in the special exhibition.

The artwork remains in the possession of the artist and is available on request as a loan for museums, curated exhibitions, and related institutional presentations. Loan requests may be considered in connection with exhibitions addressing contemporary art, typography, media archaeology, speculative design, or the intersections between historical and technological forms.

Blending humor with intellectual precision, BabyloNokia explores themes such as logic, cognitive bias, perception, belief systems, and the fragile boundary between sense and nonsense. Each comic distills complex philosophical ideas into deceptively simple visual narratives-often using just a few trembling lines
