Leuphana's EdTech Product Management Certificate Program Launches Again

Lueneburg. With the online event series "EdTech Talks," a new digital format focusing on innovations and future prospects in the education sector will launch in May at the Professional School of Leuphana University Lueneburg. The series also serves as a preview of the second cohort of the part-time EdTech Product Management certificate program, which will start again this coming October following a successful first year.

EdTech Talks: Practical Exchange with Industry Leaders

In the EdTech Talks, experts from the field will examine key aspects of educational technology. Over three sessions in May and June, interested participants will gain insights into various facets of the industry -- from startup founding to product development at traditional publishers:

* May 27, 2026 (6:00 p.m.): "Starting a Business in the EdTech Sector" with Marie Sasso (Founders Foundation)
* June 3, 2026 (6:00 p.m.): "Between Code and Pedagogy: Diverse Roles in an EdTech Startup" with Christina Wurst (FelloFish)
* June 10, 2026 (6:00 p.m.): "How EdTech Takes Shape in Educational Publishing" with Dr. Roos Hutteman (Cornelsen Verlag)

Each session consists of an interactive presentation followed by a discussion. Immediately afterward, participants will also have the opportunity to learn more about the EdTech Product Management certificate program.

Certificate Program Enters Its Second Year

The program, which launched successfully last year, is specifically designed for specialists and executives in the education sector, publishing houses, and EdTech startups. It qualifies participants for key positions such as Product Owner or Innovation Manager, who bridge the gap between pedagogy, technology, and entrepreneurship. "In digital education, we need people who can bring these perspectives together. The positive feedback from the first cohort shows just how great the need is for methodological expertise in this agile field," explains Prof. Dr. Torben Schmidt, director of the certificate program.

Course Content and Registration

In three modules, students learn to develop EdTech products with a human-centered approach and to use AI, learning analytics, and gamification in a targeted manner. All modules can also be taken individually. The curriculum is characterized by a close integration of theory and practice, with industry experts directly contributing their experience to the teaching. In addition, students develop their own prototypes.

The one-semester program begins in October 2026. Applications are accepted until July 31. In addition to the EdTech Talks, the Professional School is offering another opportunity to learn more about the certificate program on June 17, 2026, as part of its online information days.
