Caribbean Cruises Intelligence Report Offers Growth Prospects

Caribbean cruises are gaining in popularity as many tourists come to the Caribbean islands to enjoy the sunshine, the pristine beaches and a laid back lifestyle. There are many Caribbean cruises to choose from, the major ones being eastern Caribbean cruises, western Caribbean cruises, southern Caribbean cruises and the tropical Caribbean cruises. The most popular ports and places to visit in a Caribbean cruise are Barbados, Grenada, Dominica, Tortola, Aruba, Jamaica and St. Kitts. Many tourists prefer going on Caribbean cruises due to the value for money, unforgettable experiences and a treasure trove of historical, cultural and places of natural beauty to choose from.

Caribbean Cruises: Drivers and Restraints

Primarily, the main advantages of taking a Caribbean cruise are that the travellers have to pack/unpack only once and then they are ready to experience the sights and sounds of the Caribbean without having to worry about reaching their hotel, since their hotel always travels with them in the form of a cruise ship and is just a walk away to the port. Another major advantage of holidaying on a cruise ship is that most of the benefits of a cruise holiday are all inclusive, and the traveller has already paid for them in the form of the cruise package that they have purchased. This saves them a lot of money during the cruise as most of the meals and on-ship entertainment is already paid by them. This is a cost-effective way of seeing new places. There are a variety of entertainment options to choose from, both on the ship itself and offshore. Thus, cruises suit every type of traveller, the family traveller, the single traveller, the adventure traveller and for even a laid back holiday.

However, there are certain disadvantages of cruises of which the traveller must be aware of. The first and foremost is sea sickness, and if the traveller tends to be sea sick, it is best to avoid travel by ship. Also, if the weather is bad, then the traveller cannot do some of the activities on a cruise ship such as swimming on the deck or other entertainment options offered on the deck. They may also not be able to visit the various destination ports if the weather is not favourable. Also, due to the popularity of the cruises, the prices of some of the cruises may skyrocket during the holiday season. These are some of the restraints affecting the cruise market.

Caribbean Cruises: What Do They Offer?

Caribbean cruises have lots of variety to offer to every kind of tourist, be it for the adventure sports fans who may opt for snorkelling and explore the wonderful coral reefs in the Caribbean islands. There is lots to offer for nature lovers as well, with the pristine beaches of the Caribbean waiting to be explored and also something for the history and culture lovers, with a vast cultural heritage to be explored on a Caribbean cruise. There are a variety of cruises to choose from and a number of ports from which tourists can embark on a Caribbean cruise. The choice of cruise liners is also huge and tourists can choose from really big cruise ships that can take thousands of passengers at a time to small cruise ships as well who take a few hundreds.

The main advantage of taking a cruise holiday is that the tourists don’t have to worry about the costs of accommodation, ocean transport, most of the meals, beverages to a limited extent, and most of the entertainment aboard the cruise liner since they have already paid for all of this in their holiday package payment. But some of things such as dining in speciality restaurants, spa and salon services, gambling in casinos, art auctions, any purchases made in the gift shops on the ship, outings in the destinations that are offshore, alcoholic beverages, etc. are not included in the holiday package payment and have to be paid separately.
