"We're Deploying AI in the Wrong Places," Says Assert AI CEO,

As global enterprises accelerate investments in artificial intelligence, a growing debate is emerging around whether AI is being applied to the right problems. Job Philip, CEO of Assert AI, believes the industry may be missing the bigger picture.
In a recent interaction, Philip highlighted that many current AI deployments remain narrowly focused on automating routine tasks such as drafting emails, generating reports, or streamlining workflows. While these applications improve productivity, he argues they represent only incremental gains compared to AI's true potential.
"AI isn't here to think faster than us. It's here to think at a scale we were never designed for," Philip said. "The real opportunity is not replacing human effort but enabling a level of operational awareness and decision-making that was previously impossible."
According to Assert AI, the fundamental challenge across sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, and supply chain operations is not simply efficiency, but scale and visibility. Modern industrial environments generate vast volumes of real-time activity from dock movements and inventory flows to production line variations, far beyond what human teams can continuously monitor or interpret.
Industry experts note that this gap between system data and ground reality continues to drive inefficiencies, compliance risks, and revenue leakages. Traditional enterprise systems often capture what should happen but lack the ability to verify what actually happens in real time.
Philip suggests that AI's role should evolve into what he describes as a "continuous intelligence layer" embedded directly into operations. This layer is designed to observe and interpret operations in real time, process multiple data streams and scenarios simultaneously, and build contextual memory to improve decision-making over time.
Such capabilities, the company claims, are already enabling organizations to transition from reactive firefighting to predictive and controlled operations, particularly as supply chains become more complex and performance expectations tighten.
This shift is also being driven by increasing compliance requirements, tighter service-level agreements, and the need for verifiable execution across distributed operations. In this context, AI is no longer just a tool for efficiency, but a mechanism for operational certainty.
Assert AI's stance reflects a broader transformation underway in enterprise AI adoption- one that moves beyond task automation toward large-scale operational intelligence.
"The question is no longer where AI can save a few minutes," Philip added. "It's about identifying which parts of the business have already outgrown what humans can realistically track, verify, and optimize."
As enterprises reassess their AI strategies in 2026 and beyond, this perspective is likely to influence how organizations prioritize investments; shifting focus from convenience-driven use cases to those that fundamentally redefine how operations are monitored and managed at scale.
