eXo Platform Introduces a Controlled, Multi-LLM AI Digital Workplace
Paris, March 31, 2026 - eXo Platform announces the launch of its AI-augmented digital workplace, embedding controlled, multi-model AI directly into everyday work. While AI adoption is accelerating, many organizations still struggle to turn experimentation into real value. Usage remains fragmented across tools, user adoption is uneven, and concerns around data control, governance and vendor dependency continue to slow down deployment.
eXo Platform addresses these challenges with a different approach: AI that is fully integrated into the digital workplace, accessible everywhere, and designed to remain controlled at every level.
AI embedded in everyday work
Rather than introducing AI as a separate tool, eXo integrates it across all workplace activities: writing, collaboration, knowledge management and execution.
AI is accessible directly within content, discussions, documents, projects and workflows, allowing users to:
· draft, improve and translate content
· search and understand information across the platform
· catch up on activity and stay aligned
· extract tasks and take action directly within their work environment
This approach ensures that AI is not an isolated assistant, but a practical layer supporting daily work.
Contextual and agentic by design
eXo's AI relies on contextual assistants that operate within the user's environment.
These assistants:
· understand the context in which they are invoked (content, space, activity)
· respect user permissions and access rights
· support both assistance and execution, from content generation to task creation
AI can therefore move beyond conversation and actively support workflows, while remaining aligned with how teams actually work.
A controlled AI architecture supporting data sovereignty
At the core of the platform is a controlled AI framework designed for enterprise requirements.
eXo adopts a multi-LLM architecture, allowing organizations to choose and combine AI models depending on their needs, including leading models such as Mistral AI, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, and open-source or self-hosted models.
Data integration relies on a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) approach, where internal content is securely indexed and retrieved, ensuring that AI responses are grounded in organizational knowledge.
All AI interactions are governed by strict permission enforcement, ensuring that users only access information they are authorized to see. AI can assist and initiate actions within workflows, while execution remains under user control through explicit validation.
This architecture enables organizations to:
· maintain full control over their data
· adapt AI usage to their security and compliance requirements
· avoid dependency on a single AI provider
Open and extensible by design
The platform is built on an extensible architecture, allowing organizations to connect external services or develop their own assistants.
Through APIs and standard protocols, AI can interact with internal systems and third-party tools, enabling integration into existing environments and business processes.
Availability
AI capabilities are available today across eXo Platform's cloud offerings, including the Professional SaaS edition and private cloud deployments.
They are also available to OEM partners, including environments such as Orange Business Live Collaboration, and can be integrated and exposed to end users depending on partner choices and deployment configurations.
For on-premise deployments, AI capabilities will be introduced with the upcoming eXo Platform 7.2 release.
