Coworks Launches Linked Rooms Feature, Eliminating Double-Booking for Flexible Coworking Spaces
Coworks, the flexible workspace management platform built for coworking operators, today announced the release of Linked Rooms, a new feature that automatically prevents double-bookings across multiple configurations of the same physical space. The feature directly addresses one of the most persistent operational headaches facing coworking managers: rooms with movable partitions or flexible walls that can be listed as multiple booking options but share the same physical footprint.
With Linked Rooms, operators can designate which room listings share physical space within the Coworks platform. When a member books any room in a linked group, the system automatically blocks all overlapping rooms for that time slot - eliminating conflicts without requiring any manual intervention from the management team.
"Coworking spaces are dynamic environments, and the software operators use should reflect that. Linked Rooms is a direct response to what our community told us they needed - a smarter way to manage flexible space without creating booking chaos."
- DeShawn Brown, CEO Coworks
How It Works
Many coworking spaces feature conference rooms equipped with movable partitions that can be reconfigured into multiple distinct meeting spaces.
A single large conference room, for example, might be bookable as: one large boardroom accommodating up to 20 guests; two medium conference rooms for parallel sessions; one medium room plus two smaller breakout spaces; or four individual huddle rooms.
Each configuration can be listed separately in Coworks so members can book exactly what their event requires.
Prior to Linked Rooms, operators had no automated way to prevent bookings in one configuration from conflicting with bookings in another. The new feature solves this by storing an array of linked room IDs within each room's settings. When any room in the group is booked, Coworks automatically blocks all rooms sharing that physical space for the same time period.
Built for the coworking community
Linked Rooms was developed in direct response to requests submitted by Coworks operators.
Rather than emerging from internal product roadmap initiatives, the feature reflects the company's commitment to building tools that solve real-world challenges faced by the coworking professionals who use the platform every day.
This operator-first development model is central to how Coworks approaches product growth. The platform is designed to be highly configurable, allowing coworking spaces of all sizes and layouts to tailor their member experience, booking logic, and space management workflows to match the way they actually operate.
"No two coworking spaces are the same, and our platform shouldn't pretend otherwise. Linked Rooms is another example of Coworks bending to fit how operators actually run their spaces, not the other way around."
- Phil Vanderwoude, COO Coworks
Availability
Linked Rooms is available now to all Coworks customers at no additional cost. Operators can configure linked rooms directly within the Rooms settings panel in their Coworks dashboard. Full documentation and setup guidance is available at coworks.com.
