Frost & Sullivan Recognizes Insightix’s Innovative and Differentiating Approach in the NAC Industry
Palo Alto, Calif. — May 5, 2008 — Based on its recent analysis of the network access control (NAC) industry, Frost & Sullivan is proud to present Insightix with the 2008 Global Frost & Sullivan Award for Best Product Differentiation for a Network Access Control Solution.Insightix earns this Award by continuing to develop an innovative and differentiating approach to network access control. By separating its product from the competition with a clearly understood vision for network access control, Insightix has created a competitive advantage that is critical to the company’s success in this highly competitive market. Insightix has shown innovation by developing and marketing a product line that is unique and holds significant potential for success.
By using its unique Stateful Network Detection technology in its NAC solution, Insightix provides customers with complete, accurate and real-time information about the entire network. This patent-pending technology helps network and security administrator to maintain complete contextual network information - including device profiling details - about the entire inventory of devices residing on the network.
“This contextual network information enables network and security administrators to understand the current state of the network and make better informed decisions in preparation for the rollout of network access controls,” says Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Chris Rodriguez. “The Insightix solution also allows customers to see all devices, including those that are non-agentable, firewalled, virtual, or only briefly on the network - ensuring that network access controls are applied across the entire network in real-time.”
Insightix uses an additional technology to create a private quarantine at layer 2 without having to rely on switches or other network infrastructure. The Insightix Quarantine Silo technology completely shields other sensitive network resources from unauthorized machines and users. This technique has resonated well with customers that are wary of making changes to their network infrastructure or installing disruptive inline devices.
“Insightix NAC utilizes agentless visibility functionality provided by the Stateful Network Detection technology to create a unique NAC solution that applies real-time network access controls to everything and anything that connects to the network,” notes Rodriguez. “In addition, the Quarantine Silo technology eases implementation efforts by making the solution independent of the networking infrastructure.”
This high-value combination product appeals to customers across all network types. As a software solution, Insightix NAC offers a low total cost of ownership based on the number of endpoints - making this a viable solution for any size of company. Meanwhile, its scalability has helped it gain traction among customers with complex and distributed networks that require a NAC solution that can be used across their entire network infrastructure.
Each year Frost & Sullivan presents this Award to the company that has best demonstrated the ability to develop and/or advance products with more innovative capabilities than competing vendors and products. The Award recognizes the company’s successful adoption of new or existing technology that has become a part of its well-designed product family. Such innovation is expected to significantly contribute to the industry in terms of product performance and degree/rate of technical change.
This Award is presented to Insightix as part of the Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards, which recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis, and extensive secondary research in order to identify best practices in the industry.
