The Green Transition Forum Returns for its Sixth Forum in June 2026
Sofia, Bulgaria - January 2026: The Green Transition Forum (GTF), the Central and Eastern Europe's largest and most influential summit on sustainable transformation, returns for its sixth edition from the 1st of June to the 5th of June 2026. The theme of the forum this year is 'Europe's Next Chapter: Competitive, Innovative, Secure' and the five-day summit will host political leaders, European institutional figures, business executives and global partners all with the same goal in mind.Since its first event five years ago, the forum has brought together over 20,000 participants and over 1,200 speakers across 40 different countries. The 2026 edition is expected to bring together, 4,500 C-level executives and institutional leaders for panel discussions, keynotes, interviews, and networking sessions.
The Forum has long outgrown its roots in climate and sustainability, reflecting the sweeping digital, industrial, energy, and social changes reshaping our world. Green Transition Forum 2026 now puts Europe's competitiveness at the centre of a conversation we cannot afford to ignore. Leaders from politics, institutions, academia, and industry come together not for easy answers, but to confront challenges, exchange ideas, and imagine the Europe we must build." - Says Monika Stanisheva, Founder of the Green Transition Forum
A central pillar of GTF 6.0 will be a new development within the Forum called The Youth Forum where this year, for the first time, the forum will give the floor to the next generation of entrepreneurs, programmers, innovators, students, scientists and athletes.
At a time of accelerating geopolitical and economic shifts, we are also launching a new flagship format called GTF Global Dialogues. This format brings together leading global thinkers, policymakers, economists, and innovators to offer perspective, foresight, and honest assessment that will help us better understand where the world is heading and what this means for Europe's competitiveness, innovation capacity, and security.
The Forum will also discuss how the next Multiannual Financial Framework reflects the priorities of the European Competitiveness Compass and the Clean Industrial Deal, and how to mobilise private capital to align policies and funding that reinforce Europe's industrial base, accelerate the green transition, and drive technological leadership.
Key Themes for 2026
1. Competitiveness: Discussions around reinventing the European industry in ways such as advancing the economy, and further strengthening energy, regional and transport connectivity.
2. Innovation: The forum will highlight how AI, semiconductors and digital transformation are reshaping industries and societies. Discussions will also touch on how education, skills, and labour markets can adapt and utilise the tools to further improve various sectors such as healthcare.
3. Security: Securing the future of Europe by talking about how we can strengthen the defence readiness, how we can safeguard digital and energy infrastructure, ensuring the sustainable management of water resources, and most importantly, protecting the people from climate related and natural disasters.
