Micro-manometer Market Overview
Product Definition
A micro-manometer is an instrument specifically designed to measure minute pressure differences or absolute pressure values. It is mainly used for low pressure ranges that are difficult for ordinary pressure gauges to accurately capture, such as static pressure, differential pressure, gauge pressure, and negative pressure of gases or liquids. It has a wide range of applications in many fields where high pressure measurement accuracy is required.

Structure and Types
Common micro-manometers come in different types based on their structure and operating method. Liquid column micro-manometers have a relatively simple structure, mainly consisting of a glass or metal tube filled with liquid. They display pressure values by the rise and fall of the liquid under pressure difference. These micro-manometers are low-cost and easy to operate, but their measurement accuracy is easily affected by factors such as ambient temperature, liquid evaporation, and installation tilt. They are suitable for scenarios where high measurement accuracy is not required. Elastic micro-manometers, on the other hand, use the deformation of elastic elements to measure pressure. Common elastic elements include diaphragms, capsules, and bellows. When pressure is applied to the elastic element, the element will produce a certain displacement. This displacement is transmitted to a pointer or other indicating device through a transmission mechanism, thereby reading the pressure value. These micro-manometers have good stability and reliability, and a relatively wide measurement range, making them widely used in industrial production and laboratories. With the development of electronic technology, electronic micro-manometers have gradually become mainstream. They typically use pressure sensors to convert pressure signals into electrical signals, which are then processed through circuits such as amplification, filtering, and AD conversion before the pressure value is displayed on a screen. Electronic micro-manometers offer advantages such as high measurement accuracy, fast response speed, and ease of automated measurement and data storage. They can meet higher precision and more complex measurement needs, playing a vital role in precision measurement, automated control, and scientific research.
Working Principle
Their working principle is usually based on various physical phenomena, commonly including the principles of hydrostatics, force balance, and the deformation principle of elastic elements. Taking hydrostatics-based gauges as an example, they calculate pressure by utilizing the height difference between two different media (mostly liquids) under pressure. When the pressure is applied to the medium, the liquid level changes. By measuring this change and combining it with parameters such as the medium's density, the corresponding pressure can be calculated. Micro-manometers based on the principle of elastic element deformation, on the other hand, utilize the deformation of elastic materials (such as metal diaphragms or bellows) under pressure. This deformation is converted into a measurable signal through mechanical structures or electrical components, thus enabling the detection of minute pressures.
Application
Micro-manometers have a wide range of applications. In industrial production, they are often used to monitor air pressure in ventilation ducts and air conditioning systems to ensure normal system operation. They can also be used to measure negative pressure in boiler flues and pressure differences in gas transmission pipelines, helping staff understand the operating status of equipment in a timely manner and ensuring production safety and efficiency. In environmental monitoring, micro-manometers can measure minute changes in atmospheric pressure and pressure differences between indoors and outdoors, providing accurate data support for weather forecasting and air quality monitoring. In laboratories, whether it's physics, chemistry, or biology experiments, precise measurement of minute pressures is often required, making micro-manometers indispensable experimental instruments. For example, in fluid mechanics experiments, they measure the pressure distribution of fluids, and in materials experiments, they monitor changes in the performance of materials under pressure. In the medical field, micro-manometers also have important applications. For instance, in the design and use of ventilators, precise control of airflow pressure is required. Micro-manometers can monitor pressure values in real time to ensure the normal operation of the ventilator and provide appropriate respiratory support for patients.
