SKINION X (R) expands development partnerships in international biathlon

Bolzano, January 19, 2026. SKINION X (R) is intensifying its development work in international biathlon and expanding its network of national development partnerships. The aim is to continuously develop the Protective First Layer under real training and competition conditions and to translate the requirements of this highly complex sport directly into textile skin protection solutions.

Contracts have been signed for cooperation with the national biathlon teams from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. In addition, further partnerships are at a very advanced stage, including Bulgaria, Canada, Australia, and Finland. Further teams are already in preparation.

Biathlon places special demands on materials and skin. Long competition days, changing intensities, cold, humidity, repetitive movements, and precise weapon handling.
This is exactly where SKINION X (R) comes in with a development approach that understands skin protection, freedom of movement, and functional microclimate as an interconnected system. The collaborations are clearly designed as development partnerships.

The athletes' training and competition experiences, as well as feedback from the coaching staff, are systematically incorporated into SKINION X (R)'s Skin Performance Lab. There, material structures, zone structures, and protective functions are analyzed, adapted, and further developed.

Fjodor Svoboda, head coach of the Lithuanian biathlon team, says of the collaboration:
"The feedback has been very positive across the board. In biathlon in particular, it is important that athletes can rely on their equipment. We see real added value here and look forward to continuing the collaboration and the coming season."

By expanding its international collaborations, SKINION X (R) is underlining its purpose: to protect skin before it becomes a limiting factor and to maintain performance where athletes work for long periods of time under demanding conditions.

The insights gained in biathlon are directly incorporated into other areas of application, including winter sports, motorcycling, and work. The modular development approach makes it possible to translate sport-specific requirements into scalable textile protection solutions.
