Thermoforming, Fiberglass, and Injection Molding Manufacturing Services

Thermoforming, Fiberglass, and Injection Molding Manufacturing Services

Om Raj Tech, a manufacturer's representative agency focused on advanced U.S.-based manufacturing solutions, has expanded its domestic manufacturing portfolio through its partnership with Formed Solutions Inc., a Michigan-based thermoforming specialist offering advanced thermal forming solutions for industrial, medical, marine, and office furniture applications.

This collaboration strengthens Om Raj Tech's ability to support OEMs seeking U.S.-based alternatives to injection molding, particularly for low- to mid-volume programs that require large part sizes, complex geometries, Class A surface finishes, and shorter tooling lead times.

Formed Solutions Inc. specializes in multiple thermoforming processes, including vacuum forming, pressure forming, twin-sheet pressure forming, and composite compression molding. These processes allow customers to balance aesthetics, strength, tooling investment, and production flexibility based on application requirements.

According to Lyle Schut, Formed Solutions' approach to thermoforming is driven by selecting the right process for each application. Vacuum forming is utilized for larger, simpler components where tooling speed and cost efficiency are critical, while pressure forming is used for applications requiring injection-mold-like surface detail, sharp radii, and textured finishes achieved through temperature-controlled aluminum tooling. For structural applications, twin-sheet pressure forming enables the production of rigid, hollow parts with excellent strength-to-weight ratios, while composite compression molding incorporates fiberglass-reinforced thermoplastics for demanding mechanical environments.

Formed Solutions works with a wide range of thermoplastic materials, including ABS, acrylic, PETG, polycarbonate, polyethylene TPO, high-impact polystyrene, nylon, Ultem, and specialty materials such as Kydex with UL94 V-0 flame ratings for medical and regulated applications. These material capabilities support both functional and decorative parts, including clear components, textured housings, and Class A cosmetic surfaces.

Beyond forming, Formed Solutions offers integrated secondary operations, including CNC trimming, five-axis machining, and in-house assembly. Attachment features such as fasteners and mounting hardware are routinely installed during secondary operations, allowing customers to receive ready-to-install components and reduce downstream assembly time.

Thermoforming also provides a strategic advantage for customers transitioning from overseas manufacturing or evaluating alternatives to injection molding. With lower tooling costs, faster lead times, and the ability to produce parts up to approximately 120 inches by 72 inches with deep draw capability, Formed Solutions supports product development programs where flexibility and speed to market are critical.

With the addition of Formed Solutions Inc., Om Raj Tech continues to build a comprehensive U.S. manufacturing support spanning plastic injection molding, advanced thermoforming, and fiberglass fabrication. Together with its Michigan-based partners, Om Raj Tech delivers scalable, technically driven manufacturing solutions that reduce supply chain risk, shorten lead times, and support long-term product success across multiple industries.

Beyond plastic injection molding, Om Raj Tech also represents partners in other plastic fabrication processes. This includes custom fiberglass manufacturing through Advanced Fibermolding in Le Roy, Michigan, which specializes in open layup and Resin Transfer Molding (RTM). Additionally, Om Raj Tech works with Formed Solutions Inc., a Holland, Michigan-based thermoforming manufacturer offering vacuum forming, pressure forming, and CNC secondary operations.
