The Official Royal House of Sori Clarifies Identity and Announces Partnerships

Natchez, Mississippi - December 15, 2025 - Established in 1993 by Her Royal Highness Princess Karen Wright Sori Brengettsy-Chatman of Natchez, Mississippi, the ancestral granddaughter of Prince Abdulrahman Ibrahima ibn Sori, the Royal House of Sori rebranded in 2023 as The Official Royal House of Sori (TORHOS). This rebranding ensures clarity of identity and distinguishes TORHOS from other organizations that may use similar names or claim ancestral connections.

The Official Royal House of Sori is honored to serve as the recognized custodian of Prince Abdulrahman Ibrahima ibn Sori's legacy. Its mission is advanced through the Root Nine Foundation and Institute (R9) and initiatives under The Natchez to Timbo Connection (NATCO), which promote cultural preservation, education, and community engagement.

To ensure clarity for the public, TORHOS emphasizes that it is not affiliated, associated, or connected with any other organizations that may use names in part, terms resembling "Royal House of Sori," or that claim ancestral, genetic, or lineage ties to Prince Abdulrahman Ibrahima ibn Sori. TORHOS operates under its protected name and identity, maintaining authenticity and integrity for its partners and the communities it serves.

In alignment with its mission, TORHOS is proud to announce its ongoing partnerships and collaborations with Dr. Artemus Gaye of the Prince and Isabella Foundation, Trinity College, Center Center, the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Embassy Guinea, the American School of the Deaf, Adams County Mississippi, and the States of Connecticut and Mississippi. These partnerships highlight TORHOS's commitment to cultural preservation, education, and international engagement.
