The Picky Princess and the Dragon is a whimsical tale about a South Asian Princess named Diya (Dee-yah), a quick-witted and picky girl who refuses to eat vegetables - until a sweet-toothed dragon raids the castle, devouring all her favourite treats. To avoid becoming the dragon's next meal, Diya cleverly convinces Dragon to try vegetables, only to discover they're not as "icky" as she thought. Together, the Princess and the Dragon embark on a delightful feast, sparking Diya's newfound love for exploring different flavours. Packed with humour and magic, this story encourages children to try new things and is a feast for young imaginations!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Ritu Kumar lives in British Columbia with her spirited young daughters, Diya and Vaani, who inspire many of her stories. A physician by day and storyteller by night, she writes picture books filled with humour, imagination, and heart. As a South Asian author, Ritu hopes all children can see themselves reflected in the stories they love.
ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR:
Kelsey Marshalsey is an Ontario-based illustrator and book designer. As a mom of two, she is constantly inspired by her kids daily, and this is often reflected in her work. She is passionate about bringing stories to life that focus on inclusivity, diversity, and encouraging children to embrace what makes them unique.
