Appliance MD keeps his cool raising thousands for Nottingham charity in fridge costume

CDA Managing Director Chris Ward successfully completed the Robin Hood Half Marathon last month dressed as a fridge, raising £1,500 for Nottinghamshire-based suicide prevention charities Harmless and The Tomorrow Project. CDA matching his total, bringing the final donation to £3,000.

Chris took on the 13.1-mile challenge, running in a fridge costume inspired by one of CDA's own products. The sight of a running refrigerator proved a hit with spectators, drawing smiles and cheers throughout the course.

"It was an unforgettable day," said Chris. "Running 13 miles in a fridge costume certainly wasn't easy, but the atmosphere was incredible. The support from the crowd, my colleagues and everyone who donated kept me going, and knowing that the money raised will help save lives made every step worthwhile. I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who cheered me on along the route. It really made a difference."

Chris added: "Suicide prevention is a cause that is very close to my heart and I wanted to do something that could help others who might be struggling. I am proud that together we have raised awareness and vital funds for two organisations doing life-changing work in our community."

Harmless and its sister service, The Tomorrow Project, deliver vital self-harm and suicide prevention services across the East Midlands, offering support, training and bereavement outreach for individuals, families and professionals.
