Austin-based Riders Share launches free motorcycle maintenance tracking app. The digital tool lets riders log service records, set reminders, and monitor upkeep without fees. Founded in 2018, Riders Share operates the largest motorcycle rental fleet in the U.S. and recently expanded into tours and safety classes. Available at riders-share.com.
AUSTIN, Texas - Motorcycle sharing platform Riders Share has introduced a free maintenance tracking application for motorcyclists, providing an alternative to existing paid services in the powersports market.

The Austin-based company announced the launch of its maintenance tracker, which allows motorcycle owners to log service records, set maintenance reminders and monitor their vehicles' upkeep without monthly fees. The digital tool accommodates various motorcycle types, including those requiring specialized maintenance like valve adjustments and different drive systems.

"We built this to help owners monitor maintenance of their bikes, and are making it available for free even if you do not plan to rent out your motorcycle," said Guillermo Cornejo, founder and chief executive of Riders Share.

The maintenance tracker integrates with the company's existing rental platform, automatically updating odometer readings for motorcycles listed for peer-to-peer rentals. Users can upload maintenance records and receive text or email reminders for scheduled service intervals.

Founded in 2018, Riders Share operates as a motorcycle sharing platform similar to Airbnb or Turo for cars, connecting motorcycle owners with renters across multiple locations. The company has raised more than $5 million in funding and operates the largest motorcycle rental fleet in the United States.

Cornejo, originally from Lima, Peru, started the company after working seven years in automotive finance. The idea emerged after a motorcycle accident left him unable to afford purchasing another bike, leading him to discover traditional motorcycle rentals cost $300 per day.

The company uses predictive analytics to assess accident probability and severity, which helps the company maintain lower insurance costs and rental prices for approximately 80 percent of users compared to traditional motorcycle rental services, by curating the community.

Riders Share recently expanded beyond rentals to include motorcycle tours, safety classes and other powersports experiences as part of its community-focused approach to the motorcycling industry.

The maintenance tracker is available through the company's website at riders-share.com.
