Cancer & Metastases: The role of apoptosis - and how adjuvant therapies can support it
Many cancer cells manage to switch off natural cell death - known as apoptosis. It is precisely this "safety mechanism" in the healthy body that ensures that defective cells are broken down in an orderly fashion and replaced by new, healthy cells. In the case of metastases, it is particularly important to reactivate or support this protective function, as this prevents tumor cells from continuing to multiply uncontrollably.
Apoptosis - simply explained
Think of apoptosis as an integrated repair and clean-up program.
Cancer cells often block this program.
Medical treatments therefore aim to damage tumor cells and/or support the immune system so that abnormal cells can be recognized and disposed of.
Why this is particularly important for metastases
Metastases mean that tumor cells are active in several places in the body.
In addition to local therapies (e.g. surgery, radiotherapy), systemic control is therefore required - i.e. support throughout the entire body.
If apoptosis is triggered again, destroyed or weakened tumor cells can be better eliminated from circulation.
Combinations - sensible and medically planned
Standard therapies (surgery, radiotherapy, medication) remain the basis.
Accompanying immune support can help to stabilize immune functions and promote pro-apoptotic signals - without replacing standard therapies.
Examples include immunological approaches (e.g. dendritic cell therapy) and - if recommended by a doctor - immune boosting programs such as ImmuSeroForte.
Important: No promises of a cure. The decision is individual and belongs in the hands of your medical team.
Measure instead of guessing: Monitoring provides certainty
Regular checks help you to check the effect of your treatment and make timely adjustments:
"tumour count" (standardized progression measurement)
Laboratory values (e.g. blood count, inflammation markers, tumor-specific markers)
Imaging (e.g. CT/MRI, PET/CT if necessary)
Typical measurement points are before the start (baseline), during therapy and after completion of a treatment series.
What you can do specifically
Ask questions: "How does my therapy support apoptosis?" - "Which combination makes sense for me?"
Clarify timing: "What are the ideal intervals between radiotherapy/chemo and immune boosting?"
Plan controls: "Which monitoring appointments (tumor count, laboratory, imaging) are planned?"
Know the warning signs: Persistent fever, new severe pain or signs of infection should be checked by a doctor immediately.
Note: This information is intended for patients and does not replace medical advice. Your treatment team will decide whether and which accompanying measures - e.g. ImmuSeroForte or dendritic cell therapy - are appropriate in your case.

Combination therapies against the five most dangerous cancers - hope for sustain …
Cancer continues to be one of the biggest health challenges worldwide. In particular, tumor types such as lung cancer, breast cancer, pancreatic cancer, colorectal cancer and aggressive glioblastoma are considered the most dangerous and most common forms of cancer. Despite advances in diagnostics and therapy, treatment remains complex, especially when metastases occur.
However, medical innovations show that optimal combination therapies open up new perspectives: Through the targeted interaction of surgical interventions,…

Why waiting for a diagnosis of "metastases is dangerous?
Why waiting is dangerous - New hope for metastases through immunotherapy with dendritic cells and "ImmuSeroForte"
The appearance of metastases in cancer is a shock for many patients and their relatives. In breast cancer in particular, but also in other types of tumor, metastases are often the turning point of the disease - they can become life-threatening.
But an important message is: waiting is not an option. The faster action is taken,…

Cancer in the workplace: How companies can support employees
Supporting employees during their illness - and why this is also economically worthwhile
A cancer diagnosis changes life abruptly - not only for those affected, but also for those around them. The workplace in particular plays a central role during this time. More and more companies are realizing that actively supporting sick employees is not only a human gesture, but can also make good business sense.
Health is an economic factor

Treatment of metastases
As an affected patient, you are aware of one thing: when you are diagnosed with cancer, everything changes, from your quality of life to your everyday life. Surgical removal of the primary tumor is often attempted. If this does not work, radiotherapy or chemotherapy is tried, and hormone therapy is also used for certain types of cancer. Most doctors who do not work scientifically are skeptical of the new forms…

**The cancer clock is ticking - A ray of hope in the fight against tumors and me …
Every year, over 600,000 people in Germany are diagnosed with cancer. Statistically, most people die from pancreatic cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer, bowel cancer, prostate cancer, glioblastoma, etc. Common therapeutic measures such as surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy are the gold standard in treatment. However, immunotherapy is becoming increasingly important to counteract these diverse challenges. However, it is important to know that not every immunotherapy is equally valuable. Some forms of…
