?DP supports the climate demo on September 20, 2025: CLIMATE PROTECTION INSTEAD OF GAS POWER PLANTS

(W?rzburg) - The Ecological Democratic Party (?DP - die Naturschutzpartei) is calling for participation in the climate demonstration on September 20, 2025. According to the party, climate protection must once again be given an appropriate status in German politics. Like the demonstrators, the ?DP opposes the destructive course of Economics Minister Reiche, who is causing serious damage to the energy transition and climate protection with her policies.
The climate crisis and its consequences are destroying the livelihoods of people and even entire countries worldwide. Nevertheless, the German government is continuing to fuel this instead of taking bold countermeasures. New gas wells in the North Sea, new gas-fired power plants, new fossil fuel dependencies; these measures by the Merz government are going in the completely wrong direction.
Under the motto #ExitGasEnterFuture, fridays for future is protesting against this policy with a climate demonstration on Saturday. The demonstrators will call for an immediate halt to all new natural gas projects. They are calling for a real gas phase-out and a radical restructuring of the energy supply. This must be socially just. Natural gas is not a harmless transition, but an extremely climate-damaging accelerant.
The ?DP supports this demand by fridays for future. The party makes it clear that anyone who continues to invest in fossil fuel infrastructure now is putting our future at risk!
The Ecological Democratic Party (?DP) was founded in 1982 as a federal party. The ?DP currently has over 7,000 members nationwide and over 520 elected representatives at municipal, city and district level, is represented in district assemblies, provides 18 mayors and deputy district councillors and has also been represented in the European Parliament since 2014.
