Power of Men Magazine - Tackling Men's Mental Health Crisis- Launches at This Is Icon Awards During London Fashion Week.

On Saturday 20th September 2025, during the glittering This Is Icon Awards and the Final of The UK Male Top Model Grand Final, at The Troxy in East London, the UK will witness the launch of a groundbreaking new publication: Power of Men magazine. This Is Icon continues to be one of the most talked-about nights of the fashion year, where fashion, culture, runway shows and the prestigious Icon Awards, celebrating celebrities who have used their platforms to champion important causes and drive meaningful change.
Power of Men Magazine is a non-profit national magazine dedicated to men's mental health, and has one bold mission: to impact one million men in its first year by providing tools, tips, and expert resources that encourage men to seek help, open up, and know they are not alone.
The statistics are alarming and highlight why Power of Men is urgently needed:
• Men account for three-quarters of suicides in the UK (ONS).
• Around 1 in 8 men experience a common mental health problem such as depression or anxiety.
• Men are far more likely to experience addiction, with alcohol and drug misuse rates higher than women.
• An estimated 80% of rough sleepers in the UK are male, highlighting the link between homelessness and poor mental health.
• Rates of PTSD are significantly higher among men in the armed forces and emergency services, many of whom suffer in silence.
• The construction sector has one of the highest suicide rates of any industry, with male site workers three times more likely to die by suicide than the national average.
• 1 in 6 men will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime, with many more enduring unspoken forms of emotional and mental abuse.
The Editor of Power of Men magazine is Claudine Hope, who created Power of Women Magazine CIC four years ago after experiencing a severe mental breakdown in 2020. Having rebuilt her life through that struggle, Claudine dedicated herself to helping others, first with women's mental health, and now with a publication solely focused on men. "While distributing Power of Women, I was constantly approached by men asking if I could create the same support for them. I realised there was a desperate need for a space where men's struggles could be recognised without stigma - so Power of Men was born."
The magazine will be distributed nationally through Gould Barbers, England's largest barber chain, located inside Tesco Superstores and Tesco Extras. With 50+ shops already and expansions planned, the magazine will be placed directly into the hands of men where they are most comfortable. Power of Men will also be available in digital format, ensuring its reach extends far beyond print and into the hands of men wherever they are.
The Power of Men Magazine launch issue will debut in this powerful setting, packed with voices and real-life stories, featuring contributions from:
