World's first multi-channel DRM transmitter in VHF Band III
Recently Indonesia recommended Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) amongst others for VHF band III, which created the need for broadcasting equipment in this band. The two companies have responded to this request and combined Plisch's Medium Power Transmitter 5600 / 5700 Series (500W - 20kW) with RFmondial's digital DRM modulator / exciter LV5e. The modulator combines up to 15 DRM-FM streams into one spectrum, with each DRM signal having its individual content and power level. The multiplexed spectrum is then fed to the Medium Power Transmitter and afterwards optimized using advanced signal processing algorithms like crest-factor reduction, limiter and non-linear pre-correction.
As RFmondial's DRM measurement and monitoring receiver RF-SE is already prepared for VHF Band III, Indonesia and other countries all around the world have now the equipment available for setting up DRM broadcasting networks in VHF band III.
