New Activities, Visuals, and Statistics in ECP's "Rethinking Food Waste" Free Educational Video and Curriculum Update

ATLANTA, August 21, 2025 - Following large success, thousands of views, and an award from We Are Teachers, the Educated Choices Program's (ECP) "Rethinking Food Waste" update is now available. Many new activities, animations, and visual elements have been added to spark even more interest in classrooms and among the organization's growing global audience. Sources and statistics have also been updated to ensure timely and accurate information is provided to the public.

This Rethinking Food Waste Free Educational Video and Curriculum package has been especially popular with middle school and high school students. To accommodate this rising demand from teachers, ECP includes lesson plans, discussion prompts, worksheets, homework, quizzes, NGSS academic standards, grading rubrics, and a follow-up guide. In addition to the updated video visuals, illustrations have been added to the classroom materials, too, including the new guided notes.

Earlier this year, We Are Teachers awarded "Rethinking Food Waste" a Teacher Picks Badge after Christine Arsenis, New Jersey Environmental Educator, used the program with 7th and 8th graders in her environmental club.
"My students working together to bounce ideas off each other, not only from the video but also their own personal experiences, was fantastic. It made the video content seem more realistic and applicable to daily life," says Arsenis.

Due to the continuously increasing use of ECP's current multilingual options, Rethinking Food Waste is now also available in Spanish for an ever-growing Latin American audience interested in food and environmental education. The fully translated curriculum package includes Spanish narrations, closed captioning, and all accompanying classroom resources.
