Shaping the Next Edition of ISO/IEC 23988: Call for contributions to the Code of Practice for the Use of Information Technology (IT) in Delivering Assessments.
The e-Assessment Association is pleased to invite contributions to the forthcoming 2nd Edition of ISO/IEC 23988: Code of Practice for the Use of Information Technology (IT) in Delivering Assessments. This international standard applies not only to schools, colleges, and universities, but equally to professional certification, corporate training, vocational qualifications, and high-stakes licensing exams. It provides a framework to ensure that digital assessments are delivered securely, fairly, and accessibly across all contexts where evidence of knowledge, skills, or competence is required.
Why contribute?
The revised standard will include an annex of a variety of case studies from across the assessment sector. Submissions will be reviewed by the ISO/IEC working group, with successful examples shaping the updated standard. In addition, the e-Assessment Association will create case studies from all contributions, helping to highlight good practice and innovation in digital assessment.
What we are looking for
We welcome submissions from all sectors, including:
- Awarding organisations and professional bodies
- Certification and licensing providers
- Corporate training and skills assessment programmes
- Technology and service providers
- Research and innovation projects
Examples might include approaches to secure digital delivery, innovations in accessibility, integration of AI in marking, or practices that ensure fairness and reliability in high-stakes contexts. Please note: submissions should focus on practice and evidence, not sales pitches or product promotion.
