Jacada Travel Unveils 2025 Mid-Year Luxury Travel Trends: Pursuing Deeper Connections, Cooler Seasons, Slower Safaris

Jacada highlights emerging trends like off-peak travel, community-led experiences, and slower-paced explorations and safaris.
*KEY EMERGING TRENDS INCLUDE:*
• A move toward cooler European destinations and off-peak travel to avoid rising summer temperatures
• Increased demand for meaningful, community-led travel experiences
• The rise of Zambia as a leading destination for wild, authentic safaris
*JAPAN'S ENDURING ALLURE: BEYOND CHERRY BLOSSOMS*
Japan has emerged as a top travel destination for Jacada in 2025, experiencing a remarkable 140% increase in trips year-on-year. To help clients avoid crowds, Jacada recommends visiting in late May and early June for a lush, green, and significantly quieter experience. Another secret season is early December, when visitors experience the first snow on the ground after the autumn foliage peak, providing a distinct advantage for luxury travelers seeking exclusive experiences and a different perspective.
*GREECE: REDISCOVERING NORTHERN GEMS AND ANCIENT ORIGINS*
Greece continues to capture the imagination of Jacada travelers, ranking as the third most visited destination on Jacada's website in June. Europe Product Manager Jacob Chapman highlights a burgeoning interest in Northern Greece and the Peloponnese. Commenting on the growing appeal of these lesser visited areas, Jacob observes, "Clients seeking a deeper, more authentic Greek experience can venture to the awe-inspiring Meteora monasteries, dramatically perched atop colossal cliffs; delve into the profound historical wonders of Delphi, a sacred ancient site home to the UNESCO-listed Temple of Apollo; and explore legendary Olympia, the very birthplace of the original pan-Hellenic Olympic Games."
*'COOLCATIONS' AND SHOULDER SEASON TRAVEL REDEFINE EUROPE'S SUMMER*
As Europe experiences increasingly intense heatwaves, Jacada clients are adjusting their travel patterns. Many opt for shoulder season travel, primarily in May and September, prioritizing comfort and fewer crowds. The luxury tour operator has also observed a notable surge in interest for mountain destinations, such as the Dolomites, potentially spurred by the debut of new high-end properties. While Jacada's more active clients are specifically seeking out these mountainous regions for hiking and biking, the broader trend among its travelers reflects a general adjustment of travel timeframes to leverage these milder, less crowded periods in an attempt to combat overtourism.
*A SHIFT TO DEEPER CONNECTIONS AND MEANINGFUL EXPERIENCES*
Jacada's June 2025 client survey reveals a shift in traveler values. Supporting local communities and preserving cultural heritage have grown in importance since last year, aligning with a nearly 175% year-on-year increase in subscribers to Jacada's monthly Positive Impact newsletter. These compelling upward trends underscore a growing desire among Jacada's clientele to explore the world through a more responsible and conscious lens.
In response, Jacada launched a new range of experiences in June as part of its expanding Positive Impact Collection, enabling clients to deepen their connection to the places they visit. These experiences contribute to the restoration of fragile ecosystems, protect endangered wildlife, or offer the chance to help uplift marginalized communities-particularly Indigenous groups, ethnic minorities, and women.
*ZAMBIA: AFRICA'S WILD AND WALKABLE SAFARI DESTINATION*
Zambia is swiftly emerging as a standout for Jacada Travel in 2025. Bookings are already 70% of last year's total by mid-year, driven by demand for raw, crowd-free wilderness experiences. For those craving Africa at its wildest, Zambia offers an ideal, often less crowded safari experience, complemented by easy access to the magnificent Victoria Falls. Tor Saner, Jacada's Africa Product Manager, pinpoints the heart of this surge: "This growth is significantly driven by interest in South Luangwa National Park, renowned for its immersive and wild safari experiences, particularly as the home of the walking safari."
*GALÁPAGOS: A SHIFT TOWARD SLOW, LAND-BASED EXPLORATION*
In the Galápagos, Jacada Travel has seen a significant increase in interest for land-based stays. Clients are increasingly opting to either combine a shorter cruise with several nights at a lodge, or choose an extended lodge stay as their sole means of exploring the islands. This shift is a testament to both the lodges' success in elevating their excursion offerings, and clients' evolving preferences for slower, more in-depth exploratory travel. It challenges the long-held industry belief that a cruise is the only way to experience the Galápagos, highlighting a growing appetite for immersive, land-based discoveries.
