Driving the Art of Craftsmanship the 1st National Academic Symposium on Arts and Crafts "SACIT Symposium 2025: Crafting Sustainability across ASEAN and Beyond"
Sustainable Arts and Crafts Institute of Thailand (Public Organization), or SACIT, is hosting the 1st National Academic Symposium on Arts and Crafts, "SACIT Symposium 2025," under the theme "Crafting Sustainability across ASEAN and Beyond." The event will take place on August 7-8, 2025, at SACIT in Bang Sai District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.This symposium will brings together Master Artisans, Researchers, Designers, Curators and Craft Practitioners from Thailand, ASEAN, and beyond - to explore how traditional crafts like lacquerware can inspire sustainability, innovation, and regional collaboration.
Event highlights include:
• A keynote speech by a distinguished UNESCO representative on heritage and sustainability across ASEAN and beyond.
• A special lecture presented by leading organizations, experts, and renowned lacquerware masters from across Asia.
• Lacquerware Demonstration and Workshop by over 12 lacquerware artisans from Thailand and abroad.
• Prestigious awards ceremony honoring outstanding contributors to Thai craftsmanship.
• Curated Exhibition Tour: The Lacquer Legacy Exhibition
Join us in driving sustainable craftsmanship and learning about arts and crafts through boundless creativity. The event will be held on August 7-8, 2025, from 08:30 to 16:30 at Sustainable Arts and Crafts Institute of Thailand in Bang Sai District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.

These include promoting and supporting occupations to create sustainable Thai handicraft products; developing product quality and standards through the application of technology, innovation, creativity, and local wisdom to product development; and adding value to products by opening and selling Thai handicraft markets both domestically and internationally
