STORDIS to Market 10 Gigabit Network Cards from Myricom as Distributor
Distinguished supercomuting veteran Myricom leveraging STORDIS storage and networking expertise to improve product availability.STORDIS focuses with the 10 GBit Cards on Integrators, who want to provide a fast network connection for their iSCSI and NAS solutions.
Another target group are resellers, who address IPTV Solutions and need to provide a fast network connection for virtual machines. In these cases GBit Ethernet is becoming a bottleneck. Solutions with port-trunking or link aggregation provide no easy way out, but increase the complexity of the solution substantially. With a single 10 GBit Card the customer receives a simple and effective solution.
The Myri-10G NIC is compatible to Windows, Linux, MAC OS X, Solaris, VMware, Xen and a number of other operating systems. The half height PCI express x8 card is available in two variants. With a CX4 connector to reach a switch or other server via copper cable within 15m, or with a slot for a XFP, that allows the customer to insert XFPs depending on his networking demands and can reach distances of up to 40 km via optical cable.
The fan-less card supports iSCSI, jumbo frames and IP6 and offloads the server CPU substantially.
The half-height card is supplied with a half and a full height mounting bracket.
"With the Myri-10G we add another high class product to our portfolio in the networking area. Now our resellers can provide a fast 10 GBit connection to their appliances and servers." says Michael Conz, managing director of STORDIS GmbH.
"With STORDIS we have won a great partner, who will propel the distribution of our products with a high commitment and exceptional knowledge of the storage and networking market. Since STORDIS is a stocking reseller, they can offer next day delivery within Europe." says Dr. Wolfgang Rühmer, Director Sales EMEA of Myricom.
The Myri-10G NICs are available from STORDIS as of today.
