Nagareyama L.E.A.D. Launches Program at Nanbu Junior High School - First Step into Public School System
Nagareyama, Chiba - On July 15th, Nagareyama L.E.A.D., a pioneering educational organization fostering entrepreneurial mindsets in children, officially launched its program at Nanbu Junior High School in Nagareyama as part of the school's English Club. This milestone marks the organization's first partnership with a government-run junior high school - a significant leap forward in making innovation-focused education accessible to all children in Japan. The English Club at Nanbu Junior High School will now host weekly sessions from Nagareyama L.E.A.D.'s dynamic curriculum, designed to empower students to identify real-world challenges, think creatively, and develop the skills to become proactive problem-solvers. The sessions are conducted primarily in Japanese, with select English terminology introduced throughout the program to enhance students' vocabulary and global awareness.
"This is more than just an after-school club," said Sasha Lee Seals, Representative Director of Nagareyama L.E.A.D. "It's a signal that schools in Japan are ready to embrace new ways of learning that prepare students not just for tests - but for life."
By bringing their program into the public school system, Nagareyama L.E.A.D. is expanding its impact beyond private institutions and weekend programs, reaching students who may not otherwise have access to entrepreneurial education. This move opens the door for future collaborations with other junior high schools and Boards of Education across Japan.
The pilot at Nanbu Junior High also showcases how entrepreneurship and English can be taught together in a way that feels fun, relevant, and deeply meaningful to students. Already, interest from students and teachers has been strong - a clear sign of growing demand for more engaging, future-forward learning experiences.
Nagareyama L.E.A.D. invites other schools, educators, and city officials across Japan to learn more about the program and explore how their own communities can participate. "This is just the beginning," Seals emphasized. "Any school in Japan could be next."
