Noble Park Films' Grindhouse Terror Brings Louisiana Folklore to Life

LaTasha William (left) and Courtney Shay Young star in the grindhouse horror movie "Zydeco," available on multiple VOD platforms.
"Zydeco" promises a descent into a nightmare that will cling to your soul long after the final frame. The film follows friends Erin McCoy and Rae Johnson as they venture deep into Central Louisiana for what should have been a pleasant sightseeing trip. After becoming lost in the bayou backroads, a seemingly helpful local merchant directs them to visit the town psychic for an authentic taste of local culture. What begins as cultural curiosity quickly spirals into terror when they encounter the legendary Zydeco monster, a creature of local folklore brought horrifyingly to life.
The original 2011 indie horror film features a talented cast including Courtney Shay Young as Erin, LaTasha Williams as Rae, Elgin Foster as the terrifying Zydeco monster, William Hartley as the merchant, and Rhonda Schaubert as the psychic. Shot primarily across Central Louisiana with additional scenes filmed in Seoul, South Korea featuring Miles Meili of "Haebangchon" fame, the film showcases a unique blend of Southern Gothic horror and international filmmaking. Horror critic MLMillerWrites praised "Zydeco" as "a film worth supporting" for indie horror enthusiasts, cementing its reputation within the genre community. A novel of the same name is also available on paperback and ebook through Kindle, Everand, and Lulu press.
