With Martha Seagull on a treasure hunt - The summer sun children's book adventure by Heiko Volz

Just in time for the summer and travel season, a new adventure from the popular children's book series about the cheeky seagull Martha is being published: "Martha Möwe auf Schatzsuche" is the second volume of the trilogy by author Heiko Volz, author of the SWR cult characters "Äffle & Pferdle" or the pink Black Forest boy "Der schüchterne Uwe". He is also known as the "Pirat Neckarschreck" actor, a children's holiday program that has been running on the Neckar since 2021, for which he also writes the pirate adventures.

Following the success of "Martha Möwe's Christmas Present" (new edition in autumn), a colorful summer adventure now follows that will delight readers young and old: Martha, the North German seagull girl, and her friend Sven Storch from the Black Forest find a mysterious treasure map - and set off for the Caribbean. Whether they will find Captain Schmuddelbart's treasure or whether the windy pirate Flitzekacke will beat them to it remains exciting right to the end!

Along the way, the unusual duo meet new friends such as the charming Lucky Iguana and the wise turtle Aunt Sigi, who shows them that you don't have to be fast to get to the treasure: You don't have to be fast to get where you're going. The story conveys core values such as friendship, solidarity and helpfulness with a lot of humor and heart - embedded in a turbulent pirate story full of fantasy, animals and distant lands.

The book is aimed at children aged 5 to 10 and is ideal for reading aloud or reading for the first time. The subtle humor and many loving details make "Martha Seagull on a Treasure Hunt" fun for adults too.

The colorful, modern illustrations by graphic designer Sibylle Mayer, who works for an international publishing group, add a special charm.

Author and illustrator:

Heiko Volz was born in Calw in 1961 and grew up in the Black Forest and on the Filder. He trained as a publisher and studied business advertising and marketing. He worked for many years as a manager in international media groups. In 2002, he set up his own business as a PR and marketing consultant and journalist. He worked for several years as an editor and presenter for a private television station and also produced TV reports for a national news agency. For decades, he was the author and voice of the SWR cult characters Äffle & Pferdle. For several years, he has played the pirate Neckarschreck on the Neckar passenger boat Berta Epple. He writes the adventure stories for the children's holiday program himself.

In 2021, he also made his debut as a children's book author. Another children's book series is "Shy Uwe". Volz is involved in promoting reading in nurseries and schools with interactive readings.

Sibylle Mayer was born in Stuttgart in 1965 and grew up in Sindelfingen, near Stuttgart. The trained graphic and web designer initially worked as a graphic designer in various advertising agencies. She then switched to publishing houses. She has been with an international media group for many years. She also works as a freelance illustrator

Both live and work in Stuttgart.
