These versatile contact adhesives are characterized by their low odour when cured, high adhesive strength and UV and heat resistance. With these properties, they fulfill both functional and aesthetic requirements. They are already being used successfully in the manufacture of dashboards, door panels, headliners, steering wheels, folding roofs, trunk linings, seat benches and upholstery. The adhesive manufacturer H.B. Fuller offers a comprehensive range of solutions for bonding in vehicle interiors. As the company is constantly working on perfecting its adhesives and sealants, it always achieves optimum bonding results in vehicle interiors. H.B. Fuller has launched two new high performance adhesives that provide both aesthetically pleasing and durable bonding, ensuring even better adhesion, flexibility and durability. These high-performance adhesives are the 2-component polyurethane adhesives Swift®col 2607-3 and Swift®col 2607-4, which are characterized by low odour, high bond strength and UV and heat resistance.

The new adhesive solutions are the successor models to the Swift®col 2142 and Swift®col 2146 adhesives, which were also developed for bonding and repairing automotive interiors. With the further development of the adhesive technology, H.B. Fuller was able to significantly improve performance and efficiency compared to the predecessor models.

Lamination without compromise

While the sprayable high-performance adhesive Swift®col 2607-3 is ideal for materials that are subject to constant vibration and movement, Swift®col 2607-4 has better temperature resistance and is predestined for more demanding applications. Both adhesives are used for press lamination, which is used in the automotive industry to provide plastic surfaces with decorative films or foam layers. These are then used as fittings, headliners or door panels. Laminating adhesives are developed in such a way that they can also be applied by spraying so that the adhesive is distributed evenly. To achieve faster curing and higher final strength, Swift®col 2607-3 and Swift®col 2607-4 adhesives are processed with the crosslinker Swift®Hardener 9515.

Bonding with a clear conscience: The eco adhesive from technicoll®

The flexible 2-component polyurethane adhesive technicoll® 9431 eco has proven itself when bonding car body parts and composite materials. Its paste-like consistency makes it ideal for vertical and uneven surfaces. The adhesive offers high shock, noise and vibration absorption, which is why it is used for the production of seat shells, for example. As the high-performance technicoll® 9431 eco adhesive is below the limit value for isocyanate, virtually no hazardous vapors are released during processing. This has the advantage that the training requirement in accordance with the EU restriction for diisocyanates does not apply. All three high-performance adhesives are designed for high processing speeds and fast curing, which saves users a lot of time and money.
