Grammy and Emmy Award Winning Singer and Trumpeter Skip Martin Announces Upcoming Release of New Album 'Tom's Diner'

Grammy and two-time Emmy award-winning singer and Trumpeter Skip Martin [https://www.skipmartinmusic.com/] has announced the upcoming release of his new jazz album 'Tom's Diner.' The album will be available in vinyl and digital formats on his birthday, June 25, 2025, and features Marlon McClain, who offers the incredible guitar heard on the "Tom's Diner" track, Tom Schuman of Spyro Gyra and the late Wayman Tisdale.
Martin is a singer, trumpeter, composer, producer, author, and speaker and is known for his role as lead singer and trumpeter for Kool & the Gang and The Dazz Band. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the President of the United States in 2023 and holds an Honorary Degree of Doctor in Music. Martin is also a Special Honorary Member of the United States Air Force Heritage of America Band and is a Goodwill Ambassador to Okinawa, Kakegawa City, and Itako City. In addition, Martin is the founder of Skip Into Learning, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that empowers children through music and literacy.

'Tom's Diner' offers several singles including "Rise," "Let's Wait Awhile," "Summer" - a nod to Kool & the Gang's "Summer Madness, and a smooth jazz rendition of a longstanding favorite "Tom's Diner" featuring McClain, a member of the Pleasure and Dazz Band. The new release has already received incredible feedback from listeners around the world, being hailed as a stunning instrumental interpretation of Suzanne Vega's original song.
According to Martin, the decision to release a version of Vega's "Tom's Diner" came because, like many, he's always enjoyed the song. He decided to capture it in his own style while honoring his first voice, the trumpet. When the album 'Tom's Diner' officially launches on June 25, 2025, it will be available on all major streaming sites.
