One of the main causes of energy loss in air conditioning and ventilation systems is leaks. They draw fresh air into the room and exhaust stale or polluted air to the outside. To ensure that the air can flow unhindered through the air ducts, which are usually made of metal, flow resistance, such as unevenness, must be avoided during production. The 1-component high-performance adhesive used in air conditioning and ventilation technology is the solvent-free and silicone-free hybrid adhesive technicoll® 9707 RLT Silver from RUDERER Klebetechnik GmbH. This low-odour, silver-colored adhesive makes it possible to create an adhesive joint that looks like a weld seam. The metallic look gives bonded joints an elegant and high-quality appearance. This special adhesive adheres equally well to metals, plastics and composites and is resistant to UV radiation, high and low temperatures (-40 °C to +90 °C, briefly up to +120 °C), moisture and corrosion. Technicoll® 9707 RLT Silver is an elastic adhesive and sealant with damping properties. Heating or cooling noises can thus be significantly minimized. The hybrid adhesive is also so flexible that it adapts perfectly to complex geometries. The high-performance adhesive technicoll® 9707 RLT Silver is an excellent solution, especially in ventilation and air conditioning systems, where permanent, tight, flexible and water-repellent connections between the insulating materials and the air ducts must be achieved by bonding. The adhesive can also be easily disinfected and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Healthy indoor air thanks to fungicidal high-performance adhesive

The special feature of technicoll® 9707 RLT Silver is that it is fungicidal and minimizes mould growth. This property not only increases the energy efficiency and durability of the systems, but also ensures healthy indoor air. This is particularly important in areas with high humidity or changing climatic conditions. In air conditioning or ventilation systems, the condensation of moisture is a deliberate process. The disadvantage is that this creates a breeding ground for mold. Mold releases spores that are distributed throughout the room by the air flow in the systems. Bad air can trigger allergies and respiratory illnesses. Mold can also attack the building components. For this reason, every air conditioning system is checked before commissioning to ensure that the requirements for air quality and hygiene are met in accordance with the specifications of the Association of German Engineers (VDI 6022). Many HVAC systems require a fungicidal adhesive. With the hybrid adhesive technicoll® 9707 RLT Silver, users are on the safe side when an HVAC system needs to be approved quickly and easily in accordance with VDI 6022. This is because the adhesive meets the necessary DIN EN ISO 846 A+C standard and guarantees a high level of reliability for all sealing and bonding work.
