Press release from: 3D-Micromac AG

3D-Micromac AG (Smart Systems Campus | Technopark Chemnitz) will exhibit at Laser.World of Photonics China

In the last years laser technologies not only confirmed their outstanding role for micro-machining but expanded it impressively. With enhancements in the areas of shorter pulses and shorter wavelengths there are growing possibilities to generate micro structures in all manufacturing sectors.

3D-Micromac AG shows new and interesting applications in laser micromachining – for instance in the area of photovoltaic applications and medical technology at German World of Laser & Photonics Exhibition, taking place from 18th to 20th March 2008 in Shanghai, China. The new roll-to-roll laser machining for ablation of thin films on top of flexible substrates will be presented. A special feature of the 3D-Micromac roll-to-roll technology is the laser processing of substrates on the fly. That means a continuous winding process for reaching of a very high throughput. Even layers with different kinds of properties like polymer based solar cells, sensors, actuators, and electronic components can be processed.

Together with Fraunhofer IZM from Chemnitz (Germany) 3D-Micromac presents a co-developed high precision laser trimming process for MEMS and laser patterning of micro structured polymer slides for fluidic applications.

All activities of 3D-Micromac and Fraunhofer IZM on the field of applied laser technology will be introduced by two presentations at the accompanying Laser Symposium in hall E6 from 18th to 20th March 2008.

Chemnitz, 03 June 2013. This June, 3D-Micromac from Chemnitz (Germany) will launch the first production equipment worldwide that can conduct the integrated series-connection of a thin-film solar module on one single platform and in one single production step. The new One-Stop-Patterning process (OSP) only structures the modules once all of the functional layers have been deposited on the substrate. This significantly simplifies the production process. In addition, the new
