Chowdhury Remon

Dhaka, Bangladesh - April 18, 2025 - Chowdhury Remon, a 15-year garments sector veteran, today shared a transformative vision for Bangladesh's future. Under Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus' interim leadership, Chowdhury Remon predicts Bangladesh will become a global economic powerhouse by 2026, fueled by education, jobs, and diverse sectors.
From 1971 to Today (2025) Since independence in 1971, Bangladesh grew from post-war recovery to a lower-middle-income economy. The 1990s garments boom and Hasina's 2009-2024 infrastructure (e.g., Padma Bridge) drove 6-7% GDP growth, but FDI lagged at $3 billion. In just over 8 months since Yunus became Chief Adviser on August 8, 2024, anti-corruption and banking reforms have spurred $784 million in remittances (March 2025).

A Golden Future by 2026 Chowdhury Remon, who rose from a garment supervisor, predicts 8% GDP growth and $6 billion FDI by 2026, driven by:
• Tech and Startups: 10,000+ startups like bKash power "Digital Bangladesh."
• Renewable Energy: Cox's Bazar solar projects add 2,000 MW.
• Pharmaceuticals: Beximco leads vaccine exports.
• Tourism: Cox's Bazar draws global visitors.
• Rural Development: Tech hubs and microfinance empower 10 million citizens.
• Global Supply Chains: $10 billion in orders as brands shift from China.

Yunus' Dhaka Metro expansion and energy reforms tackle congestion and shortages, ensuring stability. These will create 50,000 jobs-20,000 in tech, 15,000 in green energy-reducing 4.3% unemployment.
Education and Governance as PillarsYunus' 500 vocational centers and STEM programs prepare 2 million workforce entrants. Partnerships with firms like Infosys will train 1 million youth by 2026, while women's tech programs double female participation (85% of garment workers are women). Eleven reform commissions, launched September 11, 2024, strengthen electoral and judicial systems. "Education and justice fuel our future," said Chowdhury Remon. "Jobs will transform lives."
Investor Support and Global Role Bangladesh's 60% youth and neutral geopolitics make it a strategic hub. Chowdhury Remon proposes:
• Incentives: 10-year tax holidays via 50 Special Economic Zones.
• Sustainability: Green financing for ESG projects.
• E-Governance: Business setup in 15 days.
• Diaspora: Incentives for 10 million Bangladeshis abroad.
"From 1971's resilience to Yunus' vision, Bangladesh is unstoppable," said Chowdhury Remon. "Our youth and jobs will lead globally."
Chowdhury Remon urges investors, NGOs, and the diaspora to join via the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) at www.bida.gov.bd. "My garments journey showed Bangladesh's heart," he said. "By 2026, we'll inspire the world."
