Vienna. On March 24, 2025, the Mozart Hall of the Vienna Konzerthaus will become the stage for a musical homage to two of the greatest composers of the Romantic era: Frédéric Chopin and Franz Liszt. The internationally acclaimed pianist Donka Angatscheva, Bösendorfer Artist, invites you to an exclusive gala concert that brings the unforgettable works of both composers to life.
The concert, which begins at 7:30 pm, will be performed by an outstanding ensemble of renowned artists. In addition to Donka Angatscheva, who will present Chopin's works in a masterly manner, the audience can expect an impressive performance by other greats of classical music. The internationally acclaimed violinist Lidia Baich and the renowned pianist Boris Bloch are among the performers.
The program will be complemented by the pianists Clara Biermasz, Eduard Kutrowatz and Kamila Sacharzewska, who will interpret the works of Chopin and Liszt in a unique way with their individual style and musical sensitivity.
The mezzo-soprano Zoryana Kushpler, who complements the musical dialog between the composers with her powerful voice, is a particular enrichment of the evening. Teodora Miteva, an excellent cellist, will further enrich the evening's soundscape, while the renowned Auner Ǫuartett will intensify the atmosphere with its delicate and profound performances.
Special musical highlights of this evening include an arrangement by Eduard Kutrowatz composed especially for the concert - a waltz reflection for violin, cello and piano "Hommage to Frédéric Chopin" (premiere) as well as chamber music performances of parts of the F minor Piano Concerto op. 21. Other works by Chopin and Liszt will delight guests with their impressive expressiveness and beauty.
The Austrian actress Katharina Stemberger will introduce the audience to the complex and exciting relationship between Chopin and Liszt with a fascinating narrative. Under the direction of presenter Marika Lichter, the evening will be an unforgettable experience for all the senses.
The proceeds from this concert will support important artistic initiatives and musical highlights such as the Chopin Festival at the Gaming Charterhouse (August 14-17), which has been a meeting place for lovers of Chopin's music for over 40 years.
The Frédéric Chopin Gala Concert on March 24, 2025 is under the patronage of Honorary Patron Ambassador Zenon Kosiniak-Kamysz, Head of Mission of the Republic of Poland in Austria.
