Press release from: Orcas Island Chamber of Commerce

The Orcas Island (WA) Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce its new Business Essentials series of workshops and seminars. Presented as a monthly morning event, with speakers touching on topics of value to your business, this series will be free for Chamber members to attend and are presented as benefit of Chamber membership. Be prepared to learn something useful with your morning coffee! Donations are accepted to help defray costs; only $5 for non-members to attend. RSVPs are encouraged.

"Dealing With Difficult People" will be the first presentation in the series. Dealing with difficult people can be one of the most challenging problems facing a business owner. Want some ideas on how to get a handle on those irksome folks? New Chamber member Louise Carnachan brings her years of experience in providing training, retreat design/delivery and executive/management coaching to our seminar.

Discover the four personality types and how they interact in the world and why their behaviors can be problematic for others. Participants will have the opportunity to find out their own personality type (and look around the room to find out about others!), what the strengths are of their type and the challenges, particularly in stressful situations. Everyone will leave with concrete steps they can take to deal with personalities they find most difficult so that they can communicate with anybody regardless of style.

"Dealing With Difficult People" Business Essentials Workshop will be presented on Tuesday, March 11, 2008. Contact the Chamber for sign-up information.
