Updated England manager odds from Coral Bookmakers

Press release from: Coral eurobet

Sam Allardyce has emerged as the new clear favourite to be the next England boss, after Coral cut him to 4-1 from 5-1 having taken a 1,500 pound bet on him via the internet.

"Sam Allardyce has been easily the best backed contender by some margin today and that four figure bet forced us to take the scissors to his price", explained Simon Clare, Coral Spokesman.

However, Coral report that they are also laying a number of other contenders including Guss Hiddink who's odds were slashed from 10-1 to 7-1 and now stand at 6-1 after strong backing by punters, also in the chase are Steve McClaren and Alan Curbishley both listed at 5-1.

"We have also taken some sizeable bets on Guss Hiddink and Stuart Pearce. This is turning into a brilliant betting event with more runners than the Grand National", added Clare.

Coral Bookmakers are taking bets on whether the next England Manager will be English, and are offering 4-9 that he is, and 13-8 that he is not.

"There is sure to be yet more heated debate about whether the next England manager should be an English man and after the Eriksson experience we believe it is odds against another non-English individual being given the job", said Simon Clare, Coral Spokesman.

"The FA have indicated that they want to find an Englishman to manage England but punters are betting that they pick the best man for the job, and that man is Hiddink", said Simon Clare, Coral Spokesman.
