Concerned Lebanese American Citizens Urge President Trump to Postpone Lebanese Presidential Elections
Palm Beach, FL , January 2025 - The Builders Group / The Day After, a coalition of Lebanese American activists, leaders, and professionals, has sent an urgent letter to President Trump, expressing their unwavering support for his leadership and highlighting critical concerns regarding the approaching Lebanese Presidential elections scheduled for January 9th, 2025.
The letter emphasized the imminent risks associated with the elections, mainly reinforcing the current corrupt political establishment in Lebanon, and undermining the nation's sovereignty.
The Builders Group/The Day After warns that the election of a President under the current circumstances could block any attempts of political and economic reforms in Lebanon, perpetuate the influence of the Iran-led "axis of evil" in the region, and jeopardize the U.S. interests and regional stability. Calling for the postponement of the Lebanese Presidential elections until after President Trump's inauguration, would ensure that pivotal decisions concerning Lebanon's future are made under an administration committed to democracy, justice, and reform.
For the last three decades, the current Lebanese political junta have shamelessly bankrupted the country and blocked all forms of reforms. This administration has unpatriotically transformed Lebanon to an open arena for regional political foes and a harbinger for terrorism, drugs trafficking and money laundering. Our country, once renowned for its cultural diversity, creativity and prosperity, has been sentenced to failure by its ruling junta, and it is our task to restore Lebanon's status, independence and sovereignty irrespective of the challenges ahead.
The Group expresses its commitment to collaborating with the incoming Trump administration to foster economic reforms, prioritize national security, and uphold democratic freedoms in Lebanon.
The Builders Group / The Day After invites all concerned citizens to join them in advocating for a Lebanon that embodies the values of freedom, democracy, and prosperity, serving as a beacon for the region, and distant for any regional conflicts and agendas.
We are keen and adamant to make Lebanon great again in collaboration with all our fellow Lebanese citizens in the homeland and in the diaspora.
