Côte d'Ivoire-Scotland Round Table Meeting Strengthens Economic Ties
On November 28th, the Embassy of Côte d'Ivoire to the United Kingdom, under the leadership of Her Excellency Amani Sara, successfully hosted the Côte d'Ivoire-Scotland Round Table Meeting in London. This strategic event, organised in collaboration with the Scottish Africa Business Association (SABA), brought together a delegation of 25 Scottish businesses and educational institutions alongside key representatives from Côte d'Ivoire, including the Investment Promotion Center of Côte d'Ivoire (CEPICI).Key Participants Included:
- Professor Koné Tidiani, Director General of Research and Innovation at the Ministry of Higher Education
- Koné Kinondja, Technical Advisor to the Director General of Industry
- Franck Sahou, Director of the Anglophone Desk at CEPICI
- Clément Ehouman, Commercial Advisor at the Embassy, who also moderated the event
Her Excellency Amani Sara opened the meeting with an inspiring speech on the importance of strengthening bilateral ties between Côte d'Ivoire and Scotland. Discussions focused on fostering collaboration in key sectors such as energy, agriculture, education, skills training, maritime, and fisheries.
Notable Outcomes from the Meeting Included:
- Commitments for renewable energy projects and agricultural innovation partnerships
- Agreements to develop exchange programs between Scottish and Ivorian educational institutions to enhance skills training
- Exploration of joint ventures in fisheries and maritime navigation to drive sustainable economic growth
- The event concluded with a networking lunch, offering participants an opportunity to deepen connections and reinforce Côte d'Ivoire's focus on fostering mutually beneficial partnerships.
Her Excellency Amani Sara remarked:
"This round table has demonstrated the shared commitment of Côte d'Ivoire and Scotland to fostering economic growth through meaningful partnerships. The collaborative spirit exhibited today will undoubtedly pave the way for innovative projects that benefit both nations."
