Author Q&A

What inspired you to write your first book?

It was when i was at my lowest point when I started questioning, how can I improve myself? It is from there I started to get some ideas what I need to do, and started to make it into story. We all know it is easier to remember in a story form than just point form.

How did you come up with the title?

In the beginning before I came out with this title, I just put in "finding success" because it about these characters looking for success. Then one of my friend was suggesting, "why not use the popular pun like in knock-knock joke. It is then my book title change to "Knock! Knock! Are you Mr.Success"

Do you see writing as a career?

Yes, I would love to pursue further as an author. After this I would love to venture into fiction. I like world building and character designing. I grow up reading a lot of comics and manga. I would like to try out storytelling.

Do you have any advice for other writers?

If you have something of your interest, or dreams. Pursue it and don't forget about it. Even if you did not do it as your career, but never forget those things that makes you happy.

What books/authors have influenced your writing?

for this book specifically , the biggest inspirations comes from Dr. Spencer Johnson "who moved my cheese". his use of using fictional "traits" as characters while delivers his message in a story makes it easier to relate to.

Do you write an outline before every book you write?

Yes, like they say "start with a bang and ends with an impact" and "starts with an end in mind". both quote tells an important of having a good start with the ending plans out. It will keep the consistency of the story and not deviate too much.

Picture this: You feel uninspired and you've sat at the computer for an hour without conquering any words. How do you get your creativity flowing?

Take a break. Rest for a while. Go for a walk in the park. The idea is to divert your attention to somewhere else give your mind a rest. When you have a more relax mind, ideas will start to flows back.

What are two of your favorite covers of all time? (Not your own.)

2 of the book covers style which I like a lot is from comics,

-first is Asterix (art from Albert Uderzo, written by René Goscinny).

-Second it's from One Piece (written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda).

their cover style is unique and diverse often messy but it portray a very unique setting of their world.
