paperxpencil: Bringing a 'Beach State of Mind' All Year Long
paperxpencil, a Black-owned beachwear and lifestyle brand, is redefining what it means to stay connected with a 'beach state of mind'-not just in the summer but all year round. Founded by Afro-Caribbean-American designer and engineer Jude Caze, paperxpencil draws inspiration from historically Black beaches and the calming essence of nature. The brand's mission is to help people rediscover their inner peace, regardless of season, by embracing the beach experience as a path to healing and self-reflection.A Journey Rooted in Black Life and History
Caze, a Brooklyn native with Caribbean roots, created paperxpencil in 2018 as a reflection of his personal quest for peace at the beachside in Fort Lauderdale. With designs that honor Black heritage, the brand is a reminder of the important role historically Black beaches have played in fostering community, joy, and healing within the Black experience.
"Our goal is to connect people to a deeper sense of inner peace, whether they're walking the beach in the summer or journaling by the fireplace in the winter. This brand is about embodying that tranquil energy all year long," says Caze.
Meaningful Designs That Speak to the Soul
The paperxpencil collection features apparel for both men and women, offering meaningful designs that connect wearers to nature and culture. Every item reflects the brand's commitment to thoughtful design, with graphic elements inspired by waves, journaling, and the rich history of Black seaside spaces. From hoodies to tote bags, each piece is crafted to remind the wearer that inner peace and natural connection are always within reach.
A Focus on Wellness Through Nature and Reflection
At the core of paperxpencil is the belief that nature, journaling, and self-reflection are essential pillars of wellness. By creating products that inspire these practices, the brand encourages its community to embrace quiet moments for self-discovery. Whether through the soothing act of writing or the immersive experience of a walk on the beach, paperxpencil is a guide to finding peace in a chaotic world.
