According to Aviation Week Network last month, the airport of Qingdao is aiming at doubling its intercontinental routes in 2017 after opening its first four this year. The airport’s market development manager, Yang Chen, shared that Sydney, Los Angeles, Moscow and London or Paris are the targets for Qingdao Liuting International Airport. In addition, he also commented that Qingdao and Shenzhen have been the prominent new participants this year in a secondary Chinese cities’ craze for paying airlines to open direct long-haul routes.
