Chantilly, VA - In a remarkable display of youth leadership and community commitment, Vishwa Solaiappan, an 18-year-old founder of The India Project (T.I.P) Foundation [https://www.tip-foundation.org/], successfully conducted a Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) workshop for teachers and students at Eurekha Schools in Tamil Nadu, India serving underprivileged communities. The event in collaboration with AID India, held in August 2023, aimed to equip teachers with essential life-saving skills that can make a significant difference in emergency situations.

With the growing need for accessible health education, Vishwa designed this workshop to empower individuals in low-income areas, where healthcare resources are often limited. "Teens around the world should use anything that they are privileged with to positively influence those who are not as privileged," Vishwa stated.

The workshop provided teachers and students of government schools with hands-on training in CPR techniques, including chest compressions, rescue breaths, and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs). The teachers also received instructional materials to take home, ensuring they could refresh their skills and share the knowledge with students in their classroom.
