She completed it in an amazing seven weeks last summer, during which time she was totally addicted to the task, relishing each word, getting to know her characters as she wrote, and identifying with their hopes and mix of life challenges. The power of a great book never ceases to fascinate her, so the goal of creating a "good read" was her inspiration. She has always wanted to write a novel, following a background in academic writing, one local history book, and short pieces published in travel writing, and suddenly she had the time to devote to this exciting task.
