Nadine Prill, CEO of DOCUFY GmbH, is pleased about the acquisition of Theum AG and the integration of AI knowledge management

DOCUFY GmbH, a leading provider of software solutions for technical documentation, announces the acquisition of Theum AG. With this strategic move, DOCUFY is expanding its expertise in technical content creation and management through Theum's advanced, AI-powered knowledge management technology. With this acquisition, DOCUFY is positioning itself not only as a pioneer in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) for technical writing, but also in the field of processing and delivering content of all kinds. Thus, DOCUFY strengthens its competence to serve both medium-sized and large corporate customers with state-of-the-art solutions. The integration of Theum's technologies enables DOCUFY to offer a comprehensive range of services, ranging from knowledge creation and management to automated delivery and accurate retrieval of knowledge.

With over 25 years on the market, DOCUFY GmbH from Bamberg is one of the leading providers of software for optimizing processes related to the creation and use of product information (technical communication) with its AI-supported technical writing system COSIMA. Today, the solution portfolio includes the AI-supported, XML-based technical content management system (CCMS) COSIMA, software for the legally compliant creation of risk assessments for CE marking, tools for improving CAx data quality or for analyzing CAx data, a professional solution for electronic spare parts management, and an innovative platform for the automated publishing and delivery of corporate content for easy and convenient access with precise retrieval of required knowledge. With the acquisition of the KGU Group from Flensburg in January, DOCUFY has already expanded its competencies to include services related to product lifecycle management (PLM) and Siemens Teamcenter®. With the acquisition of Theum AG, DOCUFY is now perfecting its range of solutions with an AI-supported knowledge management platform.

Theum® stands for fully automated knowledge management

Theum is successfully used worldwide for knowledge management by companies and organizations such as Bertelsmann, the German national pension system, the Munich Leukemia Laboratory, Siemens, Suez, and Tektronix. International customers can benefit from Theum knowledge management in the areas of policies, procedures, standards, legal & compliance, online manuals, service and support information, risk management, maintenance regulations, and much more. Theum can also be used for many other purposes such as onboarding, knowledge retention, help desks, and customer enquiry systems. All Theum needs to create and update dedicated knowledge bases is read-only access to the relevant storage locations where the documented knowledge is stored.

Theum extracts this knowledge, breaks it down into the smallest elements such as paragraphs, images and tables, links them according to their determined relationships to each other and stores them in a vector-oriented manner. Ultimately, structured data is generated from unstructured content, which is easily accessible via a modern web interface and can be precisely retrieved via semantic search. Pre-selected content extracts for each search can be processed safely and in a controlled manner using generative AI if required. This means that even complex tasks are supported economically, fact-based and efficiently by state-of-the-art AI.
Users receive user-friendly knowledge portals with content prepared according to requirements from the various document silos and filing systems - usable worldwide on all modern devices with any standard browser.

Theum is the perfect addition to the DOCUFY portfolio

Nadine Prill, CEO of DOCUFY GmbH, says: "Theum is a groundbreaking new software for knowledge management that generates powerful, efficiently usable knowledge bases for users from all kinds of documentation. The AI-powered technology makes content from any document collection available in a user-friendly knowledge portal. This "single point of truth" brings order to chaos and provides users with exactly the knowledge they need in a matter of seconds - from all relevant sources, prepared in a user-friendly way, selected and summarized for specific tasks. By normalizing all knowledge into standardized web formats, the research results can be used immediately and on any device for the work at hand - throughout the entire business process. This makes Theum the perfect addition to our existing portfolio. We are proud to be able to offer our customers an integrated knowledge management platform."

Paul Caspers, CEO of Theum AG, explains: "We are pleased that we have found the perfect home in DOCUFY GmbH with our knowledge management platform. Theum will optimally complement DOCUFY's professional software solutions."
