DOCUFY Maintenance Manager simplifies maintenance

DOCUFY presents a new cornerstone of its software suite in the form of DOCUFY Maintenance Manager (DMM), allowing companies to integrate their information and sustainably boost their success through intelligent knowledge utilisation. Through digital integration of periodic maintenance tasks with machine data, the DOCUFY Maintenance Manager opens the door to forward-looking, resource-optimised maintenance. In practical terms, this means that service representatives can access a display of the precise machine variant together with the necessary information and tasks to be completed at the corresponding maintenance point. This computerised maintenance management system makes maintenance faster and more cost-effective, initiating the first step towards predictive maintenance.

The DOCUFY Maintenance Manager (DMM) is an intelligent com-puterised maintenance management system (CMMS). It consists of a cloud-based web application, the Maintenance Manager, and a native mobile app for the service technician or machine operator. The DMM manages the imported maintenance tasks and instructions for each machine and then automatically creates and plans the maintenance orders. The orders are then sent to the app, which is based on the DOCUFY TopicPilot content delivery platform. The service technician is able to attend to the order on site and give direct feedback, including photos, to the Maintenance Manager via the app. This process allows for the creation of finished maintenance reports that can then be used further as needed.

Joint development by DOCUFY and Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG
The DOCUFY Maintenance Manager is a joint development by DOCUFY GmbH and its parent company Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg). Gregory Ferch, Service product manager at Heidelberg, explains: “The more demanding a machine is, the more complex maintenance will be.” To achieve maximum overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), Heidelberg was quick to follow the trend of installing sensors and networking them to achieve an internet of things (IoT). This big data is centrally processed and analysed in Heidelberg. “A machine has up to 3,000 sensors and actuators – practically all of which can designate a maintenance point,” adds Ferch. “The development of the Maintenance Manager has made the maintenance of our printing machines much easier.”

Sebastian Striebig, product manager at DOCUFY, says: “Maintenance and the associated downtimes are easier to plan thanks to the DMM. This results in fewer machine outages, the time required for maintenance is shorter and the machine has a higher level of availability.”
